Some of the images in this and its sister series incubus, were Elaine's first attempt at expressing inner worlds through composite photography. Armed with a notebook full of visions but no real idea what was needed to achieve them, she set out with her two most trusted people to see what would happen. Since dreams and nightmares, and hopes and fears, are consistent interests in her work, this ongoing series might be taken as a reflection of her artistic journey, rather than an enclosed or finite statement.
